"Shitty First Drafts" by Anne Lamotts Blog

After reading Anne Lamotts "Shitty First Drafts" it gave me a bost in confidence. I thought that writters would just sit down and write all day producing amazing work. However, she expalined that everyone has to write a first essay that might be horrendous and might not even make sense, but one needs to put all the thoughts down on papers before movinh one to the second draft. When she explained in the text about her job writting for California magazine I believed she would say it was her easiest job ever; however, Anne was having a difficult time because she was not able to put her first essay down on paper.  In this essay Anne helped me by expalining that everyoen has a difficulty writting, even great famouse writers.

When I beggign to write an essay i have to put all my thougths down on paper. Ussualy i jot down my main ideas on a blank piece of paper and go on from there. Wether its tryign to look for examples from the text or online. Once i got all my main ideas and supporting ideals written down I attempt to start my essay. At first I sit in my chair with a blank look on my face tryign to come up with a deceant introduction. Once I start writting I keep going till I realize my sentences aren't making sense so I take a 10-15 min break so relax and eat soemthing. When I return to write I read what I typed before and continue from there. I take several breaks while I write because it gives me more time to think and come up with better ways to write my essay.

My writting process is like making a cake. First you need to get all the materials you need, than you need to mix them up, than put them in the pan and then cook it. However, at the end, after all the work, when the cake is completed you see perfection. All the thing that the cake is missing is the frosting and the decorations to top it and then your done.
